Why am I seeing a Nephrologist?
Patients often worry that seeing a nephrologist means their kidney is failing and they need dialysis or a kidney transplant. However, we have a broad range of expertise and help patients with a variety of kidney disorders, including early kidney disease, kidney stones, electrolyte abnormalities, and uncontrolled blood pressure, in addition to our expertise in late-stage kidney failure, dialysis, and transplant. We offer treatment of these issues as well as educational classes so you can understand your disease.
Some of the conditions that CT Kidney and Hypertension physicians manage include, but not limited too:
- Chronic kidney disease
- Kidney transplantation
- End-stage renal disease
- Dialysis care (in-center hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis)
- Renal artery stenosis
- Congenital kidney disorders
- Inflammatory kidney disorders (glomerulonephritis)
- Acute kidney injury
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Proteinuria
- Electrolyte disorders
- Fluid disorders (edema)
- Kidney stone prevention
- Anemia from chronic kidney disease
If you have a condition that you think might best be managed by a nephrologist, please feel free to contact us anytime.
